Cooperation between the logistics operator FM Logistic and MAKRO Poland, a leading wholesale chain dedicated to professional customers in the HoReCa and traditional trade sector, began in 2014. Ten years ago, exactly 25 July, the first pallet with MAKRO goods arrived at the FM Fresh warehouse in Mszczonów. FM Fresh and MAKRO employees celebrated this anniversary together at the Mszczonów warehouse.
Under the contract, FM Logistic performs warehousing and transportation services for the customer. MAKRO is the first FM Logistic partner in Poland with which the operator has started handling fresh goods under the FM FRESH brand. The service applies to the fresh sector – dairy products and processed fish – and ultrafresh, i.e. vegetables and fruits, meat and fish. Such an assortment requires different temperature ranges: 0-2°C, 2-4°C, 8-12°C, to maintain the best possible product quality.
Handling the fresh and ultrafresh sector requires excellent organization, meticulous planning and ensuring proper conditions. This is a huge responsibility, as even small deviations from the required temperature altitude can result in loss of product quality. The logistics operator must guarantee the complete safety of goods throughout the entire supply chain, explains Natalia Szlaga, Manager of the FM Fresh branch in Mszczonów.
The meeting in Mszczonów was an opportunity to summarize and thank each other for years of cooperation. “The high quality of our services is based on harmonious cooperation between planners, drivers and FM Fresh warehouse staff. Thanks to this, we are able to guarantee our customers constant availability of fresh products and cope with large fluctuations in volumes. We are very pleased that MAKRO Poland appreciates our knowledge and experience in fresh produce logistics and has entrusted us with logistics operations for 10 years now,” adds Natalia Szlaga.
A trusted and experienced business partner, especially in such a demanding category, is the key to success. The FM Fresh team is made up of competent and committed employees who support the development of our business every day, says Dorota Wojtyńska, Senior Manager of the Fresh Articles Logistics Department at MAKRO Poland.
